Handbags and Sisterly Love

She landed at McCarran International Airport at midnight on Wednesday night. As is generally the case, she brought bags full of exotic gifts from her home in Hong Kong and lots of opinions on how things should be done here in The States. In my family we all have strong opinions, and my sister is no exception to the rule. Fortunately, one pushy broad can always appreciate another, and I am really enjoying having her around to straighten my pantry shelves and eco-friendlyize my bathroom. Did you know that Red #5 is still used in many popular lines of cosmetics? Shocking.

My roommate may, however, find the two of us a bit too much for her constitution. She is accustom to my haranguing her over politics, but now Big Sis is adding input on Roomie's favorite shampoo. You see, when my sister and I get together, our outspokenness gathers momentum at a startling rate. It is not mere matter of multiplying obnoxious by two. Rather, ideas and influence tend to grow exponentially.

I guess it is not fair to imply that my bad behavior is exclusively tied to the influence of Big Sis. After all, I have been known to be a pain in any number of anatomical parts on any number of acquaintances.--that did not come out quite right, but I am trying to be less profane these days... So let's just say that the neck is one of the possible areas affected by the cancer that is VegasBabe-on-an-intellectual-mission... In college I seldom saw my sister, yet I still managed to make my share of waves.

My father once told me he was afraid to send me to BYU... Afraid they would make a Republican out of me! He said it in jest (he is really quite tolerant of the ignorant), but little did he know that I'd be pushed to the other extreme. You see, there is nothing the opinionated love more than conflict. Result? I became a very outspoken Non-Republican! Sometimes poor daddy just shakes his head, wondering how his three youngest children got to be such loud mouths. The first two are so civilized!

At least I have a few new designer knock-offs to distract me from orchestrating life-changing experiences for poor Roomie.
